James L. McCREA

Known descendants of his are Arlene Wood Hillman of Brentwood, California; Philip McCrea of St Charles, Indiana; Waunita McDermeit of Iola, Kansas.


Gilbert McCREA

They also had daughters.

Was an insolvent debtor to his step-father Major McDonald in 1805 and then left New Jersey, probably settling in Kentucky or Ohio.


James Hanna

He lived at Newtown until after 1793 when he moved to Frankfort, Kentucky.


Mary Harris Stewart

She was daughter of John and Hanna Stewart of Newtown.


Mary Read Harris

She was daughter of John Harris, founder of Harrisburgh, Pa.


William I. Van Duyn

Died intestate in Bridgewater township in 1824.


Maria McCREA

Resided with her half-uncle Creighton before marriage to van Duyn.

She was living at Franklin, Somerset co., New Jersey "when her half-uncle's will of 8th December 1812 (or 1813) was drawn up and signed." (Major F.B.McCrea's notes).

She was a widow in 1833, residing at Somerville, New Jersey.

Major F.B.McCrea says that she also married a Mr Staat, but there is no other evidence for this.


Mr MacDONALD

The date of this marriage seems unlikely if her first husband didn't die until 1824. Perhaps it should be 1826, but this needs verification.

They had two children who both died young. One a son who was recently dead in 1833, aged 7. The other was dead in 1842.


Maria McCREA

Samuel McCREA

A descendant of his is Elizabeth C. Adams of Omaha; as is Jane C. Mitchell of Madison, Wisconsin.


Rachel Wing

Her parents were Nehemiah Wing (b.1776) and Esther Underhill.


Mary Ann McCREA

According to Major F.B.McCrea she wrote to Sophia McCrea (nee le Mesurier) in Guernsey on 23 March 1842 giving some details of the American family, including the fact that she was the daughter of Samuel, son of Samuel.


John McCREA

A known descendant of his is Dolores E. Mitchell of Isle of Palms, South Carolina.

Philip P. McCREA Dr.

Living in Ohio in 1831 but then went to live with his daughter who had become Mrs George Harris Thompson of Gladstone, Somerset co. and subsequently of Morris co.

He died age 92 or 93.
